Getting Started

PRELIMINARY READING

The best place to start learning about the Australian Demeter Biodynamic method is by reading some of the foundational texts. Suggested books to start with are:

Biodynamics: Agriculture of the Future

An introduction to the biodynamic method delivered in this lecture by Alex Podilinsky, in which he demystifies the activity of the biodynamic preparations and describes their effectiveness in soil development and plant form.
Available in PDF form (left) or in hard copy from the Biodynamic Marketing Company via admin@biodynamic.com.au

Living Agriculture

Another lecture by Alex Podilinsky that builds upon Biodynamics: Agriculture of the Future. Topics include reclamation of salt-affected farming land under biodynamic management and humus vs organic matter and their qualitatively differing effects on soil and plant feeding. Biodynamic Agriculture Introductory Lectures Vol 1, Lectures 1-4

The first of six biodynamic introductory lectures that have found wide use among Australian farmers - down-to-earth and practical discussion of the biodynamic fundamentals. Available to order in hard copy from the Biodynamic Marketing Company via admin@biodynamic.com.au

ATTEND A FIELD DAY

Once you’ve completed some of the basic reading, the next step is attending one of our introductory field days.

These are held in various locations around Australia and tailored to either small growers or commercial farmers. More information and a list of  upcoming events is available at the link below. (You can like us on Facebook or Instagram to stay informed about news and events.)
