Keith McCallum’s property at Buninyong, south-east of Ballarat, produces a wide range of fruit, nuts and vegetables for household and community consumption, on a small scale (100 fruit and nut trees, 1/4 acre of vegetables and berries). Timely application of Demeter BD preparations supports healthy, humus-rich soil, growing pest-resistant plants for nutrient-dense, quality food production. Keith has been learning to apply the Australian Demeter BD method for over 40 years with BD composting and green manuring part of the routine.
This field day is aimed at small growers and gardeners.
Stirring and storage equipment will be demonstrated and available for sale on the day.
Location: 1210 Winter St, Buninyong, VIC
Time : 9.30 am start until about 3 pm. Set aside the full day in order to meet the practical requirements for membership of BDGA.
Bring: BYO work boots or gumboots and a good gardening fork for compost building! (Lunch, teas and coffee provided.)
