Sarah and Declan and their 2 daughters have been on their property for 6.5 years in which time they have developed a 40-tree orchard, 800sqm vegetable garden that feeds them and a few friends all year round and also small scale livestock. They have operated organically and have been practicing the Demeter Biodynamic method and applying 500 for the last 2.5 years.
At this introductory field day you will hear about plant feeding within nature, soil cultivation to improve soil structure, green manures, humus formation and microbial activity, biodynamic plant expression and use of the biodynamic sprays, including how to store, stir and apply the preps at the most beneficial time. Stirring and storage equipment will be demonstrated and available for sale on the day.
You will also see small scale seedling production with soil blocks using BD compost.
This field day is aimed at small growers and gardeners.
